Terms of service

These terms explain purchases and personal use of digital products sold through Hearth & Quest. In these terms, "we," "us" and "our" refer to Hearth & Quest.

Purchases

Purchases are available in the countries supported at checkout. Adventures are designed for adults. You must be legally able to make the purchase and provide accurate contact and payment information.

Prices are in US dollars. The price, applicable taxes and order total are shown before you pay. The Emberbound Road and the optional Wayfarers' Keepsake Pack are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. A later price change does not change a completed order.

Your adventure

The Emberbound Road is one cooperative PDF adventure for two people. The download contains a Start Here guide, the complete screen edition, US Letter and A4 print editions, and a README. Each full edition includes all rules, twelve scenes, three possible endings, two hero sheets, a journey tracker, six discovery handouts and a route diagram. The full editions are alternative formats of the same game.

You need one six-sided die, a pencil and paper or the printed journey sheet. Nothing is shipped. The PDFs are not fillable forms. Read our Digital Delivery policy for file access and requirements, and our Refund Policy for refund eligibility and download support.

Optional companion

Wayfarers' Keepsake Pack is a separately priced, optional digital companion. It includes two seven-page PDFs with identical content: a screen edition and a low-ink US Letter print edition. The pages contain a short encounter with three resolutions, two foldable letters, a shared journey record, two bookmarks and two commemorative cards.

The pack is not a second complete adventure. It adds no required rules or game advantages. The Emberbound Road is complete without it. Printing and writing are optional; paper craft supplies and physical items are not included.

Personal-use license

Your purchase permits you to download, keep and print the kit for your own private, noncommercial play. You may replay it and privately share the needed pages with the person playing with you. You may ask a print shop to make copies for that personal use.

Do not sell the files or printed copies, post them publicly, distribute the kit to others outside your own play, or include the supplied text, artwork or files in a product you sell without our written permission. Keep the credits with any permitted copies.

The kit includes AI-generated cover concept art. This permission applies only to rights we hold or may authorize. It does not claim exclusive rights in material that is not legally protected, and it does not restrict uses that applicable law already permits.

If a purchase is canceled and fully refunded, this permission ends for the refunded product. Stop using it and delete your copies, except to the extent applicable law permits otherwise. This does not affect separate products you purchased and kept. For commercial-use questions, email hearthandquest@gmail.com.

Product information and changes

Your purchase covers the files and features described when you order. It does not promise future content, free updates, permanent hosting or a particular play duration. Personal prompts are optional, and players may pause or skip them as the rules explain.

We may update these terms for future purchases. A change does not reduce the permissions or refund terms that applied to a completed order. Nothing here removes rights or remedies that applicable law gives you.
